I have a DIY, here is my problem:
If I tighten it, its too tight
If I don't tighten it, it will POP
If I loosen it, it will POP

So what should I do? I'm finding it really hard to cube with a cube which keeps popping, or injures my wrists (my wrists are sore since I've tried to break it in, since its too stiff)

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I would probably tighten it to before the point where it is 'too tight' and just use it a bit, it will loosen up anyway.

"Tight" is relative.
When I started cubing with my DIY I felt it was very tight. Then I got used to it, now it's perfect for me and I find that my old cube way too loose.

I prefer tightening it so it rarely pops, and then lubing it at that point makes it perfect :]

Move slower so it doesn't pop, don't turn corners so sharp, and then gradually increase speed. That is what I did when I had the exact same problem as you.
