Cubing failure thread

I failed to become one of the top cubers in the 6-7 years of my cubing career, and I accept that failure humbly. During that time, I managed to make many friends, some of which we've made a friend group and met at worlds in person for the first time. Hopefully we can reunite meet again in the future and hang out. In the meantime we've got online interactions and gaming sessions to make up for it :)
I also became faster than I'd ever thought I could, and managed to get some good results for myself, as well as some podiums.
I also failed to get mega podium 2-3 times, and I don't think I have the potential to do that with decent mega solvers

i know a guy who:
missed 3x3 silver medal by 0.02 (he only needed to not get WPA)
missed TWO 2x2 gold medals
missed 3x3 national championship finals because he messed up cross on the last solve
missed PR single and average because he didn’t see the ~11 move xxcross solution
never has comps so everyone is beating his PRs

and this guy just happens to be me

My pb single was a 38 move solution with 3 free pairs and an oll skip. I got an 11.67 with 3.175 tps. That could easily have been a sub10. It upsets me because my only time within a second of it has an ll skip, so I’m cooked on trying to improve it. Sub10 single out the wall.

I Got 3.96 on an 8 mover in skewb because i paused for 0.5 seconds, it remains my only official sub 5.
I also forgot to start the timer on 7 mover in 2x2 at my last comp. I also dnfed out of my overall pb at comp in 4x4, because i had pll parity in the back and it didn’t notice.
