csTimer released

I have a question with the old qiyi timer the black one with the cable if u plug into a phone will it connect to cstimer
I’m sorry sure if I am thinking of the same QiYi timer, the black and gray one, but if I am, then it won’t connect to CsTimer. I’ve tried many different methods, different cables, different computers/devices, and still nothing.

@qq280833822 Would it be possible in the future to change the “tool” section based on your session? For example, I would want to have the “time trend” option selected for my 3x3 session, but I might want the “draw scramble” option for SQ-1, but I can’t have 2 different ones, they both have to be the same. If that makes sense.

There's actually a way for this. If you go into settings and into tools, you can see that you choose the # of tools you want, from 1-4.

It might not be showing different tools for different sessions, but it works basically the same way.

Could that be used to trigger multi-phase?
No. Hardware timers for speedcubing doesn't have such lap/phase intermediate results itself, and doesn't send any additional events over wire which can be used to simulate that. Moreover it will be not so handy to use stackmat for such mult-phase splits. If you want to get detailed splits and much more info about your solves to analyze, I'd recommend to buy modern smartcube like GAN 12ui, it is supported by csTimer.

Actually in csTimer you can bind some of the option settings to the session scope, i.e. has setting value to be different for each session and adjust it automatically when you switch session. Open settings panel, and you will see With session checkbox on the right, opposite to each option that support it.
Also there is Tools > Selected Functions options which can be enabled With sessions. And it will do exactly what you need. It will store selected tools within session scope, and when you switch sessions it will also switch selected tools.

Yeah, that. Mine does not connect to CsTimer no matter what I do.

If you just plug timer into your Mac with audio cable (i.e. directly to the Mac internal sound card), it may not recognize timer as sound input device, and don't activate Mic input. Easiest way to workaround this - just buy standard USB dongle sound card, one that has separate Mic input, they are really cheap. And then plug timer into Mic input of USB sound card. And yes, csTimer has stackmat tool within Tools, where you may check stackmat device status, and pick correct sound device where your timer is plugged in.
But rather than messing with cables and sound cards, I'd recommend just to go and buy GAN Smart Timer, and easily connect it via Bluetooth to csTimer on any device available like PC, Mac, Phone or Tablet.

I don't mean for the Stackmat to track multiphase.
You said Stackmat sends over wire distinct left/right touch pad events, so it will already trigger inspection time in csTimer. Couldn't it also be used to trigger csTimer's multiphase, if multiphase is already set in options.

This is not possible with GAN Smart Timer. When timer is start counting, no any events except timer stop can be sent.

Not sure for now about StackMat. When timer is running, distinct left/right pad touches may be just ignored in such case. But if these events are sent while timer is running, together with currently measured by StackMat time, then this can be implemented. I don't have genuine StackMat on hand right now to check.

Yeah, I know about the adapter, which is why I tried on different computers where the mic and headphone Jack are separate, but still nothing, and nothing is showing on the stack at device status tool.

Actually it should work.
The issue most probably in the cable used. If you able to, try to get original QiYi 3.5-3.5 data cable.
