IQ is not indicative of intelligence..

First of all, what counts as intelligence and what variables should be included is a big variable when measuring intelligence. When we are talking about this, we should also be talking about “what is indicative of intelligence.”

if you are really concerned with intelligence, this is the kind of stuff that should be discussed.

IQ does not take this into account, and just pulls out a number from a test. What these numbers are indicative of depends on the test, and there can be many variables at play in terms of what score you get.

I know my IQ, but I will not share it here because I don’t think it is indicative of much in terms of intelligence.

Anyway, what I think is that cubers are more in terms of pattern recognition and spacial geometry, but again, this may not be indicative of “intelligent” based on what you decide is indicative of such.
boasting about PHD in quantum mechanics and talks a lot = arrogant dumb poor human being
I don’t agree with this entirely, because people can be smart and boast at the same time. Arrogance doesn’t always equate being “dumb.”

Good take on the concept of IQ. I agree it is not a reliable metric or a number to trust.

I agree that cubers do not have good math skills, just the ability to recognise patterns faster and in a more intuitive way.

That's why a lot of cubers are also good musicians.

No racism on SS please,

Please support your statements by valid research references.
Yes, we do not need racism on the forums. I would have said the same thing, however the post was deleted by the time I saw it in my inbox.
Anyway there's a high chance that they didn't intend to come off as racist cause the post was deleted.

Being good at math is pattern recognition. Say what you want about IQ, but it's undeniable that the fastest cubers are much more likely to be good at math/STEM than the general population. If you look for what top cubers/former top cubers are doing at uni or work, being a programmer is overwhelmingly common.

This is also because they are less intimidated, since most people think you need math for cubing.

I didn't mean to be racist, I'm sorry. I just used the stereotype of asians being smart and good at everything. I didn't see it as racist as for me it didn't lower the asian race but I agree it can lower the other races. I'm sorry

I didn't mean to offend anyone, also please don't take statements out of context as it can make other people who didn't read all the posts make quick judgements about others. A good mod has to be impartial
