Scramble your cube with this:
R2 B2 D' L2 U R2 F2 D U' R' D' L2 D R
Using a commutator/conjugate, how would you solve that DIRECTLY?
I bet your gonna be like: "What do you mean directly?"
I always get 2 mis-oriented corners, how do you solve it so you don't have to orient them afterwards?

B' [R' F' R] B [R' F R]

Explantion. B' is X (or P) solving UBR while UFR is correctly oriented to R layer (the slice that contains the two corners.) R' F' R' is Y (or Q) solves the UBL corner. B is Y-1 (or P') puts it in the UBL corner in the right spot and undoes side affects from X (or P). R' F R is obvious.

just recognize that its a COLL alg: y' F R' F' L F R F' L'

L F' L' B L F L' B'

Cube rotation is not direct.

I just recognized*

And it is direct by how lotsofsloths said it:
how do you solve it so you don't have to orient them afterwards
Just... add in a y at the end. The (F R' F' L F R F' L') I use as a COLL alg, and is easier to trigger.

Cube rotation = Cube orientation

a y cube rotation won't affect corner orientation, nor will other cube rotations affect how you need to orient cubies if you are going to be undoing the cube rotation.

It affects the way the entire cube is oriented.

If you need to rotate a corner cubie once clockwise before rotating a cube, you will still need to rotate it once clockwise after rotating the cube (provided you are going to be undoing the cube rotation)...

I'm getting really annoyed. It affects the way the entire cube is oriented

It affect how the CUBE is ORIENTED .

What is "It"? y, or y y'? I am referring to y y', which has no net effect on the cube at all. I assume you are referring to y, which does have an effect. But only temporarily, as I will be undoing it. The y is simply there because I wish to perform the same algorithm from a different orientation. It does affect how the cube is oriented, but again, only temporarily: it affects the cube orientation while I am performing the alg, only. I am not particularly concerned with the overall cube orientation during the algorithm as I will undo the cube rotation when I am done. What orientation I perform the algorithm from makes no difference at all, provided I undo it. So no, y y' will not affect how the cube is oriented at all.

JBCM627 and MistArts: stop fighting.

L2 [B' D2 B, U'] (post too short :o)
I like this approach way more intuitive than others.

Nah, it's not.

By the way, what do you use for the normal OLL case? Chances are that you use a commutator for it.

You can do this case without a conjugate. So why not use the 2 from me.

Code:
y' F R' F' L F R F' L' [B]y[/B]

Rotations are bad in FMC and BLD.

Having y afterwards is orienting afterwards.

y' y will not affect the cube at all...

as in, doing (y' F R' F' L F R F' L' y) will apply the exact same face turns to the cube as (L F' L' B L F L' B')...

I agree that y' y doesn't affect the cube but y' does. It's not necessary at all though. Commutators are really for speedsolving so it's not actually needed to have a rotation to fit the fingers.
