COLL-From where to start?

Are we really talking about the same method? C'mon guys all the COLL cases take exactly the same amount of time to recognize. I used the technique that encodes 4 colors with letters. At first I was like 'Hey it's the FFBB!' and stuff. Now I just give it a glance and viola.
Tried to learn that fancy hyperorientations thingy but didn't quite get how is it better than to remember how 4 colors relate to each other.
