I used to be a huge sports card collector as well. I still love to do it, but since I don't have a permanent address and my cards are never with me, my online trading has gone way down. I started back in the early 90's, but didn't get serious until around 2000. Between 2000 and 2006, I completed around 1000 trade transactions online. I used to help run the largest sports card trading forum back in the day (TR - were you a member there?). I used to make quite a bit of money by buying prospects and selling or trading when they were hot. A couple I recall right off the top was a Clint Barmes 1/1 RC that I bought when he was a new to MLB. The year he was hot, I resold it for over $300. Another was Mark Prior. I had some nice auto RC's of his that I resold for huge profit when he became a star.
Mark3, did you do much trading online? Basketball was the sport that at collected the least out of the big 4, and baseball was probably my most collected. I still have a pretty nice vintage collection, and still have one of the biggest Todd Helton collections in the world (around 100 GU, 30+ autos, 2k+ base/inserts, all rookies graded from 8-10, complete 1993 TT Bazooka set, etc).
Speaking of BKB cards, I still want to buy a '98 SPX Finite Carter RC. It was the first card I ever wanted, and I never owned it in all the years I collected. Do you happen to have that card?
