:( My first competition is only a week away! I don't know if I've practiced enough. I've been trying bld and now I have to focus only on OH and speed because I still havn't met the goals I set for the competition! I wanted to average under 25 seconds for speed and under a minute for OH. Right now I am close but not close enough! What am I going to do!?

Don't practice the day before. I tried to cram in some practice before Rutgers, and all I got for it was a slightly sore thumb.

Other than that, just don't worry about it. You'll be fine. Don't be nervous, either; just relax when you get up to solve.

Man I'm going to have to do some serious practicing. Sub-25 isn't easy I always get like 26 sec when I go super fast. Everytime my cross and F2L are under 20 sec I still mess up by doing a 2-look OLL when I mess up the last F2L pair! And I still get times in the 1:10 to 1:20 area OH sometimes! I hope my parents ease of on my homework and understand that I need to practice more than I need to do my h/w, lol.

Now I can't practice my BLD or corners-first because I need to get my times down. I hope I can do it.

Hope you do well ;)

I generally believe that you will get your best times if you prepare yourself mentally. Relax and don't get too nervous. Before the competition, solve the cube a few times to "warm up". Also try not to injure yourself by overcubing :D

They're will be other comps, and don't worry about the sub-25, if you worry too much you'll stress about it during the comp,
and besides sometimes Competition scrambles surprise you they can be really easy sometimes.**

at caltech winter 07 i got one where the cross was 3/4ths solved so i was able to plan ahead to the 1st slot, i got a sub-20 solve from it. :)

Boo. Yeah, it was a two move cross with an easy first pair...but somehow I managed to get a 21.xx. I guess the F2L was otherwise pretty long - that was before I forced myself to do less rotations.

Man, I'm still nervous but my OH times are decreasing. I hope I can make it through lol, Thanks guys!

I'm still trying to cube fast but it doesn't look like my speedsolves will budge. I get a 23 and 24 yesterday though. I hope I can keep it up.
