(Really long post btw)
This definitely counts as a blindsolving failure. I haven't had a lot of official MBLD attempts so my PR sucks, just great that my official attempt today had to be the worst MBLD of my life.
I submitted 25 cubes, my last 2 practice attempts have been 23/25 and 20/25, both 59 mins. I was feeling OK before the attempt, so I thought I'd get at least like a 21/25 or something.
The start of the attempt and memo was pretty normal, 36 minute memo and I actually had time to do review everything at the end. Some music from an ice cream van or something kept playing which was kinda distracting, but overall it was pretty smooth.
In exec everything just fell apart. On the first cube, I forgot corners(for reference in most of my attempts I don't forget everything). From there I just kept pausing and messing up and everything just felt horrible. The harmonica holder was also faulty, and it kept falling over and over again. Final result was 15/25 57:59.
List of DNFs-
1 cube where the harmonica holder fell and knocked the cube out of my hand onto the floor(might have just slipped out while trying to fix the falling holder, either way this is definitely a new one lmao)
1 cube where I picked up the cube in the wrong orientation(first time this has ever happened to me).
1 cube off by a 2-flip
2 cubes where I forgot memo
3 cubes where I made one wrong move in exec
2 cubes just off by a few pieces.
I won't do splits since I'm not sure exactly how fast my memo was. I went really fast during exec bc I thought I would cross the hour, that might have caused some of the DNFs as well.
So obviously this is a terrible attempt. My attempts at home have been alright, I've been averaging like 18 points and up until now, the most cubes I've DNFed in a multi has been 7. I'll have more opportunities to compete in MBLD though, it sucks now but I definitely think I'll get a good official attempt at some point.
(Also I somehow DNFed 10 cubes and came 3rd lmao)
