Blindsolving Failure Thread

I'm grinding for sub 3 4BLD single- DNFed out of sub 3 bc I messed up parity then failed a 2:50(roughly) because of a long pause and an exec error I had to fix and it ended up being 3:10. At least now I have a success with 51 second memo I guess, even if exec was 2:19.
51 memo is nice, did you do a 2 pass of wings and corners?

I 2-passed wings, I think I one-passed everything else. I also got a 44 memo in a DNF after this(2:33 off by 3w I think) and a 2:57 PB single with 50 memo(I think). How fast are these memo times compared to my exec speed?
Your exec speed should be much faster.

For 50s memo, you can optimally have 30-1:10 exec,

So there is a lot of potential to improve.

50s memo is pretty fast for me, and I average 2:10. So... your memo is really really fast for your speed.

I think a lot of the memo speed also came down to the fact that I was doing all out attempts with very little chance of getting a success. My memo would be slower in safer solves, which I'm planning to do at my next 4BLD comp(first comp where I properly know 4BLD). Still, it's nice to know how much space there is to improve, even though I think I'll have a really hard time with TPS(I average over a minute on 4x4 sighted).

30s exec can be the minimum right, if every comm is optimized and executed fast.

The point I want to make is that memo speed and exec speed do not have any correlations.
Didn't you say his exec speed was slow 'for 50 second memo'? Similarly, 50 second memo is slow 'for 30 second exec'. Of course there are correlations between memo speed and exec speed.

yes the correlations are based on overall skill level, but practising memo does not improve exec speed.

On the other hand practicing exec, does speed-up memo as we need less time to keep the memo and we have more confidence.
