I know for 5x5 there are two main methods, 2 at a time and 1 tredge at a time, but what about bigger cubes?

I use one quedge/pedge at a time, but I don't think it is possible to get good times doing one set of 4x4 edges and one set of 5x5 edges (or two sets of 5x5 for 7x7)

Imagine doing a 2 at a time 7x7 solve!

No, you're totally wrong. That's called multi-reduction and I (along with plenty of others) can get sub-5 7x7 times with it... besides, I use that method on hi-games, and if you think my bigcube times there are not good I'd like to see you go beat them (hint: unless you're Michal, you can't). Multi-reduction isn't slow at all, but the recognition can be a bit harder than doing one edge group at a time, which is why most of the fast bigcubers don't use it anymore.

I have to agree with you, it just seemed like to big a # of edges to do multi-redux on, but I just did a time on 7x7 with it, and got 8:3x.xx (I did centers slowly because that wasn't what I was paying attention to, I could easily get sub-8 otherwise)

If you practice, recognition on it could be improved greatly. I may actually switch over to this for a while, until I get consistent sub-7, then switch back, and so on.
