;) Hi, I've just joined today an I haven't cubed for a long time, I use the beginner method and I'd just like to ask whaT ARE YOUR best beginner method times and when did you start lkarning f2l, THANKS!

ps. Could you also post ways I can improve?:tu

I used 2-look OLL and 2-look PLL for last layer when I started speedcubing, so I am counting that as part of beginner's method. Awhile back I did a 22.xy average of 50 with beginner's LBL and I know I could do better now because that was with my F-II (and I should be lubing a speedcube for the first time ever later today, so that could help improve my beginner method TPS as well)

As far as learning F2L, I didn't time solves vey often back then, but if I had to guess I would say I started when I averaged around 1:15.

Erik Akkersdijk got sub 20 with beginners method (here)
I started learning F2L when my LBL times were around 30 seconds.

well im already past my beginner method days but bk then it was like maybe 47 PB? lucky and non lucky like 50 but the way i wud recommend getting faster is one thing...PRACTICE!!!! 1. learn the F2L 2. learn OLL and PLL cases and then PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE nuthing helps more then practice

Using full beginner including sune permuting and r d r d orienting around 30-40 secs cuz I only use roux nowadays and switched to fridrich early on. Then quit sune after, and switched to roux.
So I haven't had much experience in beginner method.

Edit: to answer your question, I learnt fridrich a few weeks after leaning beginner. Then roux like a month after.
Tips: slow and lookahead on f2l. Don't go crazy tps on LL

He asked when we started learning F2L. I don't use Fridrich anymore, so I specified. I guess I should have put 30 seconds. Edited.

I was assuming you said "Fridrich" as in the Fridrich Method as in CFOP, which encompasses F2L. So I was wondering how you learned F2L after Fridrich.

Begin learning intuitive F2L now. I recommend Badmephisto's basic idea of F2L video. After that, take some time to practice incorporating these into your solves each day and you'll see improvement no doubt.
OR
Do some research on what method best suits you. Then after getting the basics down, you can choose whichever method you like most or w/e. ALSO IMPORTANT: IF YOU ARE A BEGINNER, YOU HAVE THE CHANCE TO BECOME FULL COLOR NEUTRAL. I really recommend being color neutral. If you stay with CFOP(Fridrich), just begin solving with the CROSS THAT SEEMS THE EASIEST ON ANY COLOR. Then begin there. I wish I would have known about color neutrality when I started (I'm switching to color neutral:can solve with cross on orange, red, white, and yellow, but slower on blue and green still).

Sub 30 with beginners, i never learnt it properly before switching to cfop, and then roux soon after...
but quite a few l2lk algs are very similar to beginner algs (insertion, oll hack, pll hack etc...)

Ive got a question about color neutrality. ATM Im sub-30 with CFOP(2 look OLL, full PLL). Would you still recommend learning it at this stage ? Or first try to become better (sub20/15 whatever) and then start doing cn-solves ? Because for me its really hard to do any other cross than white.

Start now. It will only get harder to do as you get faster.
