[Member Intro] Back to cubing after 30 years

I recommend getting a variety of different puzzles too.

Yes, I like to solve 4x4x4, it is a good relaxation for me. I do it quite slow, in 5-7 min. Small 2x2x2 cube is one of the favorite toys for our 1.5 years old baby :)
Another puzzle for quiet meditation is octagonal prism. My wife gave it to me recently, and I spent some time before found it's similar to 3x3x3. As to larger cubes, they don't attract me at all for now.
I also have Moldavian pyramid (aka Pyraminx) made in mid 80s, Skewb (don't know exact algorithm yet, it just solves itself from time to time) and Cube-21 (never solved it for more than 10 years).
One day I plan to purchase Mirror-cube because of its craziness and Megaminx because it looks cool :)

I've just got a Fisher Cube which is a nice challenge too.

I play Go since 2000, mostly on servers (however, I know the rules since 80s - from the same "Nauka i Zhizn' magazine). I'm a self-educated player, never had any sensei. After 15 years of playing my level is 2-3 kyu on KGS.

The megaminx is fun, similar to a 3x3 except for the last 2 layers which only require 2 algorithms if I recall correctly.

Welcome back and enjoy!

First sub 25. I'm a bit less active in cubing last months...

Finally I did it! New PB is 20.50, which is better than first official WR = 22.95 (Min Thai, 1982).
Also updated other PB's by 2-4 sec. each.

Good to meet you. I'm 43 years old and learning Roux. I've played with cube a few times before but this time I'm doing it more seriously. I'm still at around 60 seconds but making progress.

I play Go very poorly due to never really having time to play due to a 4 year old son and way too many other hobbies, but I still like it and occasionally pull out my copy of Kageyama's Lessons in the Fundamentals of Go to read a bit. I haven't written a chess engine since college, when I made a very weak one in Turbo Pascal my freshman year. Back then there weren't standards for pluggable engines yet, so it was actually just the whole chess program.
