Only questioning because they cost £50 and you can’t even use them in competitions. I currently have a MoYu YS3M Maglev BC and average 29 seconds.

The best part of the smart speed cube is the fact that you have a record and reconstruction of each solve which enable post solve / post session analysis.

If you can take advantage of that it's a great tool.

Smartcubes have the ability to record your solves. If you know how to use that to improve your 3x3 solves, then this cube might be really useful.

However, even though I used to like it, as I've begun to change my turning style, I've started to lock up more and more on it, and now I average about 1-3 seconds worse on it due to the lockups I get on the cube.

Oooooh now I don’t know. Maybe once I’ve finished learning full OLL and PLL.

Which Smartcube do you have? Is it one of the GAN ones? Because they were the ones I was looking at

I love my smartcubes and do 90% of my timed solves with smartcubes.

You always have your times, your reconstructions, your statistics...

The GAN Smartcubes also have a trainer to learn and improve algs, possibility for online matches...

And they are not so expensive:
You can get the Monster Go AI from 17$
This one is OK for beginners but I would recommend you the GAN 356 iCarry which is only a little bit more expensive (beginning at 20$)

If you want the best GAN Smartcube you can buy the GAN 356 i3
But this one is with 40-50$ a little more expensive. I think to start the iCarry will be enough for most.

I just bought the MoYu Weilong AI
It's the fastest cube but it doesn't have an english app, so you have to use cubeast.com
And also the magnets are a little weak.
I would not recommend this to anyone. Only to the ones who can afford it and already have the GAN smartcubes.

I would say they are, you can learn quite a bit and they are helpful in a few different scenarios.
I personally recommend the iCarry just because you don't have to recharge it after only a few hours, and the replacement battery isn't hard to find.
I use mine with csTimer and turn on multi phase in the Bluetooth section in settings, and it gives me the time splits for each step in CFOP.

Thanks! I’ll get the iCarry then. :)

I think the best Smartcube on the market is now the GAN 12 UI FreePlay.
It exists since a while but no shop sold it.

But now you can buy it at the cubicle

or if you dont mind to order from china for a cheaper price at Ziicube

I've ordered one and can get you a review in around two weeks
