Are Cube Rotations neccessary in this kind of situation?

hey just wanna find out is cube rotations worth it in this situation:

Grab the nearest cube, and do :R U R' U' (two edge flipper) and y2

most of you would probably do U L U' L' but what if i need to insert it as the final pair? i use VHF2L so should i do a y2 or should i do a U2 and then a d2 simply because doing cube rotations require regripping of the cube which is slower?

thanks

hmm i dunno because it's the last slot, and i may have to AUF a little for COLL

What you should do is to learn the algorithms with mirrors, on te R/L-plane, F/B-plane, and the F/B & R/L-plane. Then you could do the pairs in any order.

rotations are not that bad....
i don't lose anytime when i rotate, versus doing the algorithm with awkward turns.

this would make it not awkward.

Lol, I know that case well.
Mirror it, but I would also do an X' rotation, which takes basically no time, because it's at the same time as the first turn.

Definitely U L U' L'. I don't use VHF2L and don't worry about those algorithms. Ignorance is bliss.

I have more problem with disconnected pairs than connected pairs.

so do you think it's worth it learning mirrors now? or after i learn all of ZBF2L, then only mirrors?
