hi evryone i want to learn the cfop method but am finding it very hard especially with the 20 odd algorithms i am wondering wether to continue trying to learn it or do another algorithm is there any better one that i can learn and still have a chance at sub 10 time
many thanks

Roux, Petrus, ZZ(with many of it's variants), theoretically CFCE all have cubers reaching sub 10 times with it AND have less algorithms to learn than CFOP has.
Although I don't know where you get the 20 from. PLL has 21 algorithms and OLL has 57.
Petrus and ZZ are, in their most basic form, having 7 OLL cases and 21 PLL so your needed algorithms would drop from 78 to 28, although many opinions saying this form of Petrus/ZZ is not worth it; sub 10 is still archievable nevertheless, but definitely harder than with other, more algorithm heavy variants.

Roux, on the other hand only has 42 cases for CmLL. If you are REALLY bad at remembering algorithms(which I don't believe, you're likely just unexperienced) that that can drop to 7 OCLL and 2 PCLL cases, totalling 9 cases, doing it 2 look.

You might wanna give CFOP F2L, Roux F2B, ZZ F2L and Petrus 223 (basically the First two Layers part/non-Algorithmic part of each method) a serious try for 1 month each and pick the method you like most a try, worrying about algorithms later.

(I am not going to try to argue if 4LLL for CFOP or 2 look for the other methods is better overall with the rest of the solve in mind. They are all inferior versions of the advanced methods where there is a lot of discussion and analytics done already.)

Thank you so much I will try each method then once I get my new cube never heard of cfce so going to try that first many thanks

Youre just inexperienced with learning algs, try learning the 2 look oll and pll, it is only 16 algs

Ok that seems a lot but I'm guessing practice will make it easier to rember I did learn beginners method a year ago and my best is 50 second average 110 don't know if that's good probably not I will try what you said

It's slightly difficult to understand you without punctuation your time is definitely OK as long as you are solving with your full capability now so dont worry about that regarding the algorithm it really isnt that scary I suggest you use the jperm's site for 2 look oll and 2 look pll as a starting point on that site there is a setting to display what we call "triggers" and group them in parenthesis and it's actually easier to remember it that way by breaking them into smaller chunk you can try to memorize on each day and if you can do more than that then do it and within a few weeks you should be able to remember most of them but practice everyday is necessary you can try searching the forum for how to practice or learn algorithm many if not all of us has been through this stage some of us even started in their 40s and we can tell you you are going to be fine unless you really are clinically diagnose with some learning disorder so go ahead and try before you jump into any conclusion cheers

Just start with 2 look OLL and 2 look PLL and alg after alg.
If you don't already know one of them, use your old method, if you know it, use it.
They are not that hard to learn if you start with it and I guess some of them you know already from your beginners method.

The most important about learning algs is to break them down into triggers like Sexy Move (R U R' U') or Sledgehammer (R' F R F).
Most algs are just some combinations of such triggers sometimes with a couple of single moves before, after or between

F2L you can start intuitive without algorithms but maybe if you want to get real fast, you could learn one or another

There are also other methods but they all use some algorithms.

believe me, is not a lot. when I was learning to solve the cube I struggled to learn cases because nothing made sense to me. It was just a bunch of random letters.
but after you learn a few algs it gets so much easier to learn new ones. Because patterns repeat a lot.
When I started and saw how many plls there were I asked myself if there was one single person on earth that knew all of them by heart.
some time later I knew all PLL, OLL, algorithmic F2L and proceed learning other sets, and learning another angles for olls and plls I already knew xD. So it's hard for me to tell how many algs I really know

so... go slow in the beginning and don't give up, you will know all of it in no time, a lot of us here can confirm this

If you try to learn as many algs as possible and learn a new method at one time, you're going to get stressed out. Do your own research into other methods, and determine which one is right for you. Go slowly after that, and slowly learn more algs and get better times.

so i tried to make video but i can only use laptop camra and it turned out really bad i am going to learn cfop and keep persisting with it
