I think the problem you're having is "parity", I personally cannot solve a 4x4, so take this with some salt.

The issue you’re having is that you haven’t finished paring up all of the edges yet. Look at the yellow layer, you haven’t paired up the edges. You need to pair all of the edges, including the yellow ones.

Doing this in 1 algorithm is not what you should do. The 2 things to do from here you could feasibly do are either finish the edges then solve as a 3x3 or do CLL ELL. I will not go over the latter as it’s not really a beginner method

What I would say is hold the cube like the first picture and do Rw U2 Rw D Rw’ U3 Rw’ D’ Rw2 to solve the blue/green edges, then U2 and Rw2 D Rw’ U2 Rw D’ Rw’ U2 Rw’ and all of your edges are now paired (do not learn these!!!). Want to add a disclaimer that nobody does this and if you are able to pair edges intuitively then that’s quicker and easier.

You will not get OLL parity on this solve. But you might run into PLL parity. Basically if you can’t finish the cube like a 3x3 you want to do r2 U2 r2 Uw2 r2 Uw2 then solve as a 3x3 with whatever last layer method you know
