I recently made a new thumbnail for a channel called ARC SOLVES. Do you think its cubing AI SLOP or just becuase they dont know how to make a thumbnail? Here is the AI thumbnail and the thumbnail I made. Which one looks better? Edit: I forgot to tell you guys, the creator said to update it (Pls dont give hate lol) It is actually only enchanced by ai, the cube and the timer and the logo, are both made by ARC Solves

I really dont care if the thumbnail is bad or not, but if its AI YOU BETTER PAY ME TO WATCH, I dont support any lazy person that cant be bothered to edit a simple thumbnail and uses AI, that just means they also used shortcuts for the actual video and its bad, so not worth my time

I will forever prefer a crap thumbnail with heart to slop without a soul

I taught myself a lot of photo editing and graphic design techniques just from continuous practice and projects. I would make funny pictures to practice the tools and layering, but I also spend many many hours using Powerpoint for presentations and scientific figures (I refuse to use AI for publications, which is a whole separate issue in today's world lol). So these are just things you pick up by doing, and if you keep making your own thumbnails, it will gradually become easier and you'll explore all sorts of new editing tools!

Personally, I'm strongly deterred by AI images in posters, media, and thunbnails. It just lacks soul and individuality, and makes me hesitant about the effort and commitment applied to creative content. Even if it's an amateur or simple design, that looks way better than AI images. Enhancement is pretty easy with templates, basic adjustments like contrast and saturation, etc.

I’ve been a little out of touch with the community lately, but I’ve been waiting for a thread like this to pop up. What is the general consensus on AI in the cubing community? Split pretty evenly? Strongly one way or another? I’ve seen a little bit of conversation about it, but not a ton, so I’m curious if anyone who’s more in touch has some info.

I don't like AI. It is bad for the environment and is outsourcing creativity and effort.

Ill say that if you just used the logo on the right and slapped it on the one on the left that would probably be better. I say this as someone who has no inherent issues with using AI art for things. If you want you should be able to do A/B testing to see which one preforms better. keep this in mind you have to decide who this video is for and if you're tartget audience doesn't want AI then it'd be for the best to use the left one.
