O.K.
People have often wondered which OLL, PLL, F2L, algorithm to use for each case...soo...
Here's what I propose to find the 'best' algorithms

How I think we should rate best:
-Fingertrick-friendly/fast
-Not an awkward hand position
-Difficulty to memorize...perhaps?
-Length
-Re-grips

First off, I think we should start off with PLL's and OLL's

If you are interested in researching all of the algorithms of a certain case, please PM me in this thread

How to find/research algorithms:
-Cube Explorer
http://kociemba.org/cube.htm

-Badmephisto's Gripper
http://www.badmephisto.mine.nu/cgitests/outtime.py/handlehi

-CCT(to time the algorithm) or another timer(stackmat)
http://gnehzr.net/cct/

-Hands
you should know where these are...:p

-Speedsolving Wiki(already 'decent' algorithms there)
http://www.speedsolving.com/wiki/index.php/OLL
http://www.speedsolving.com/wiki/index.php/PLL

-Whatever else...

"What can I do to help?"
or
"What should I work on?"

Well; Here's a list of the PLL's---Let's start with them...
H
Ua
Ub
Z
Aa
Ab
E
F
Ga
Gb
Gc
Gd
Ja
Jb
Na
Nb
Ra
Rb
T
V
Y

Form to 'sign up' for a certain algorithm to 'research':
---------------------------------
Name:(Joe Schmo)
Section:(like PLL/OLL/whatever)
Case:(H Perm)
---------------------------------

I hope I'm not wasting my time with this...that was a fair amout of typing:rolleyes:

not a bad idea...Do you want to sign up for that?

I could do optimal when I have time.

Y:

R' U' R F2 R' U R (U y') R2 U' R2' U' R2

Acw:

x' R' D R' U2 R D' R' U2 R2

Accw:

x' R2 U2 R D R' U2 R D' R

Ucw:

R2 (U y') (R L') B2 (R' L) U f2

Uccw:

R2 U' y' (R L') B2 (R' L) U' f2

The thing is, is that each alg may feel different to different people in regrips/finger-tricks/speed.

How hard is it to go through a list of algs (which we have compiled) and choose the one that feels best to you?

I'm positive that I have the best list of PLL ever. I've learned many algs for each case, some cases, even over 5 algs (U, Y, E and Z). I've practice each of them until I've perfected them. I believe all algs are on the speedsolving wiki, either it's the standard, or I put it there.
Algs also depend on the cube and the person. Like the standard Y perm sucks for me and on stiff cubes. So if I didn't bother to find all these crazy algs, I probably could have learned half of MGLS.
The best site I recommend for PLL (in order):

Speedsolving Wiki
Erik Akkersdijk (interesting algs, MU)
Lucas Garron (many things, including Square-1 and MGLS)
Jason Baum (ZBLL, COLL, nice PLLS)
Sebastien Felix (unique algs, OH, multi-slot)
Nakajima (unique algs)
Macky (standard)
Lofty (OH)

Mitchell's too!

Anyone who knows me knows that I perform my Z...strangely, to say the least. I have the uncanny ability to be able to consistently perform U2' in a single pull, different from the "double tap" method others use. Because of this, I can perform this algorithm smoother than most: (R2 U R2' U2' R2 U R2' U')*2

I'm sure I'm not the only cuber with a "quirk" like this. Everyone's styles differ greatly. My alg is nearly useless for the great majority of cubers.

You mean (R2 U R2' U2' R2 U R2' U')*2?

That's what I said

I hate most Zs including the one I've been using. This one is nice! It's only one move longer than my current alg. You say you can do a U2' in one "pull", while I do the R2 in "one pull", which makes this alg nice and smooth for me. I may have to try to incorporate the U2 "in one" also.

Thanks for posting. :)
