As someone who has learned 18+ zblls in a day, and also like 35 olls in a day, I think I'm well qualified to speak on the subject (I also used to learn 16 zbls algs a day, but I quit zb, and 10 tnlls per day before I quit TN method). Here are my 5 tips to learn algset as quickly and efficiently as possible:
1. Learn Algs!
This may sound funny, but my point is that as you learn Algs you get better at learning algs. So just keep learning and you'll get better.
2. Keep a journal/notebook
Write down your algs, recog, and ways to remember alg/aufs. I used this when I used to learn zbll (which I gave up).
3. Break down the algs
Now, this can be like "F, put in pair, U', undo, Sexy move, sledge" (y perm), but also "do weird things with adj pair" (I actually have that written down for a zbll

). Just break it down in your head based on moves, or relations to other algs you know, and then write it as something that will help you remember those in your notebook. I also recommend coming up with little phrases, mnemonics, or ideas that can help you remember the algs, as those can be easier than remembering the individual moves.
4. Practice
This is key. When learning algs quickly, don't prioritize execution at the start. You want to start working on your recall as soon as possible. What I tend to do is look at the algs, then do it a bunch to get a feel for what it's doing. Then I come up with my way of remembering it, and spam the alg for a minute. Then, I write it down in my notebook (actually I don't use one anymore, but I'd still recommend), and then do this for how many algs are in the group I'm doing (like 6 clls at a time), and then drill those until I'm recalling them almost instantly, and then move on. Also try to practice as much as you can in your free time.
5. Get help and have integrity
If you're ever stuck on learning some algs, get other people's thoughts on the algs and ways to break it down and remember it, or even on how to learn algs. Everyone is different. This is my system; your ideal one may not look like this. Experiment to find a good solution. But through it all, the best thing you can do when learning algs is to be consistent. Learning 16 zbls algs every day may sound like a lot, but when you actually start learning them, every day get easier. Just make a plan and stick with it. Then you'll be flying!
If you need help with any specific algset for 2x2, give me like 1-2 days to learn it because I use Ortega, and then I'll be glad to help you!
Best of Luck,
