Alright, I average 33.06 seconds. Sub-30 solves only make up 10% of my total time. I solve the 2L in a time anywhere from 16-26 seconds and my LL can take as long as 12-15 seconds sometimes. Is this good enough for my regular solve if I expect to get to a 20 sec avg. in a month?

For OH, I solve F2L from 50 seconds to a minute with my cross being relatively fast whileeverything else probably 30% slower than when I regularly solve. And I average 1:26(though I do get a lot of low 20s). Is this good enough if I'm solving 30 seconds for my speed solve? And is it good enough if I want to avg at least 50 sec in a month?

Thanks in advance.

While I challenge you to prove me wrong, that kind of improvement within a month is unlikely. I went from 24.xx to 20.xx in about a month, and I could consider that very fast. It gets exponentially hard to improve as you get closer to zero. And before you can talk about 20 sec averages, your F2L needs to be somewhere around 10-12, and F2L is the hardest to get fluent with. Also keep in mind that, unless you're one of a rare breed, averages at home do not translate to averages at competitions, so just take it slowly, there'll be other competitions.

I only started 1h in mid-January, and speed and improvements in 1h have a lot to do with your speed with both hands. I was sub-minute within a week and sub-45 in a month. I think being fast both hands is a prerequisite to being fast both hands, because solving F2L very quickly and fluently is much more difficult 1h. As far as the ratio goes, convention wisdom would say that it should be twice as long, as you have half the hands, and that's where I'm around right now (17 and 35). But I think a good ratio is more like 1.5:1, because solving at a slower speed allows for smoother execution. So I think that sub-30 is the 1h equivalent of sub-20.

Well, I won't say nothing is possible, because M?ty?s Kuti has cubed a little over a year and can now avg. world class on almost every puzzle. However, he practices for hours a day, everyday, or at least I heard. I practice as much as possible, around 30 min avg. a day. It took me almost 4 months to go from 24 to 20 seconds, and another month to get to 19.6 second avg. Practice is key, it depends on how much time you can put into it.

I'd recommend working on F2L to avg under 20 seconds on that, then work on the LL a lot. Good luck.

I agree with everyone above me that getting sub 20 is hard to do in such a small amount of time, but you seem very dedicated.

One handed seems to be way to slow for you. I use working corner + 4 look last layer (<30 seconds 2 handed) and I can average sub 50 on the 3x3x3. I think you would have much more flexible hands compared to me so you should be able to go sub 1 pretty soon.

Do you know all F2L, OLL and PLL algs already, or are you using a "more look" last layer?

I am using a 3-look last layer that morphs into a two look when I use my ZBF2L algs. I try to preserev the orientation of the LL that way I know what I will do before my F2L is done.

Yesterday I consistently hit the 1:10-1:19 range(plus some very close to 60 seconds) for one-handed so my avg on that is 1:17 now.

I use an empty-slot f2l mixed with a keyhole f2l and finish up with a ZBF2L alg(yeah, I know, my f2l is weird) .

I'm cubing whenever I canbecause I want to avg sub-20 soon. But it probably took me almost a month to start hitting the 30s consistently and only now am I hitting sub-30. Any training tips on how to keep my times lower? I train usually like this: oone day I do all regular speed-solves and maybe two days later or the next day I do most one handed with a few regular.

Thanks for the comments guys, it really helps.

On OH, I don't stop moving, I can see almost every move coming because of it being slow. But in reular solving I can also see ahead, just not as far. On the LL I have to sometimes rotate my cube or do U and U2 a lot to position the pieces where I need them to be. Sometimes when I have an edge cycle I think it is going to be a parallel edge edge and corner swap instead. So maybe if I work on my prediction more i can get faster.
