Alternative to 2 Look OLL cases?

I am working on headlights, but my grip on the cube makes the D and D' really hard to do.

Also, Should I learn full PLL or OLL first?

I would say full PLL first (most probably would)

It's actually a COLL case, but you could use (R U2 R' U') (R U R' U') (R U' R') as an alternative. It's 3 moves shorter, and it's 2 gen.

(R U2 R' U') (R U R' U') (R U' R') is not headlights...

Learn PLL first, and the headlights alg (assuming you mean R2 D R' U2 R D' R' U2 R') is really nice if you do the D moves with your left ring finger.

Also, learn full PLL first.

alternative 2 look OLL: when I was a beginner, I orient one corner first. (using sune algo). then I memorize all the OLL that has only one corner properly oriented.
but I think it has more algo to learn than the usual 2look OLL...

I personally learnt OLL before PLL, lol think it worked out pretty well as OLL was kinda easier to remember
