This is me solving a rubiks cube on my second day: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GtgVvm-8Jto (though I have attempted before, I am serious now :P)
Does anyone have any advice or suggestions or where to go from now?
I have managed to make it down to 1:26 before, but I stopped speedcubing. Now, ( I hope) I am determined to get my time down.

You have a cube4you brand on your second day...?
If it is in fact your second day, then your doing well. Practice as much as you can for the next couple of weeks. If you are fast at improving, you could learn a new, faster method, in a couple weeks to a month. But it all depends. The only advice now is to practice.

CollinBxyzL: This is actually not c4u, it's a terrible hybrid. A good cuber I know (sub 15), took my normal cube and put c4u core in. I am getting a cube 4 you cube, but it is not coming for at least 10 days.

Look ahead, make cross on bottom and do R U R' U' instead of R' D' R D. Experiment with different methods, if you want to learn CFOP, learn F2l, then the OLL's that use the cross, then PLL, then the rest of the OLL's if you want to. Learn to do U moves instead of cube rotations (y moves). Try not to pause as much. To try not to pause, slow down and try to look ahead at the next piece you want to solve.

same position as me last month, I stopped because of my crappy cube, got a new one and started cubing again, I was LBL beginners method, I suggest u learn CFOP (Cross F2l OLL PLL) it's worth learning and will reduce your time greatly. Try other methods and see which you like best.

I think I just found that the method I was using, is not as good as memyselfandpi's beginner method. I was using jasmine. Switching...

you seem to have good flicks for turning layers, but I'd recommend doing them a bitty slower, at that speed it's hard to keep track of the pieces (even if you're just doing it subconsciously). Also it's ok to turn the side faces with your hands, you seem to be repositioning your hand just so you can flick them. Anyway stick with it and I'm sure you'll get fast quickly.

Getting times ranging from 1:00 - 1:30 just doing f2l with fridrich, no LL. :( It is my first day trying though.

when I started doing F2L it took me almost two weeks to see improvement in my times.... Then I started consistently getting under 45 with F2L and beginner's for LL about a month or two after.
