I recently noticed that my cube has been getting worst and worst. I begins to lock up, it's way too smooth. (I have only lubricated it once, when I assembled it.) As a result, my times are getting worst. Twice, have I rotated a corner piece during a speedsolve without pops. I think it's time to "retire" this cube. I am surprise by how fast this cube went, as I bought my cube in mid June. Is there anything I should know to prolong the live(s) of my speedcube(s)? .

if you get rid of that cube can i buy it?(if still usable) I need a smooth DIY for OH.

DIY's indeed get a lot better, If i were you i would dissasemble your cube, clean it and then put it back together and relube it. I bet youll find its better.

It's not like I want it smoother or faster. I prefer stiffer cubes. I think I may have worn down the screw through vigorous turning. I may try to pop out the center caps and tighten the screws.

That will probably work. My 5x5 that came was way too loose, and it just got looser as I used it more, so I had tighten the screws. Worked well for me:)
