That came after a bunch of people put on duck profile pictures.

The initial event was when zzoomer (@ruffleduck) posted a picture of a duck eating popcorn as a reaction image to a cubing argument (it was probably a CFOP vs ZZ debate but I don't remember exactly). The popcorn duck was based off of the swagrid popcorn emotes in the ZZ method solver's discord.

It started with the 4x4 method development competition of 2021. There were several groups but once voting started there was very, very, suspicious activity. Some evidence was provided on why one of the competitors was cheating and the suspect denied it. This started a chain of posts.

One of these posts was an obnoxiously long one by me in which I ranted on both the fraudulent cheating and a comment made by everyone's favourite SS member. In response to the post ruffleduck (then zzoomer) posted this historic image.

And it was all uphill from there.
