I'm first in the Weekly Competition now hehe

I actually did pretty well! I didn't get a 4BLD success, but that's to be expected. I got a MBLD success but it took much longer then it should have.

I did well in 2x2, only got 1 anti-cll/eg-2 case. And I got an 8 last week, poggers. I think I did okay in 5x5, and I did reasonably well in Megaminx and 4x4, given that I'm not practicing them rn.

When do you stop rapidly improving in clock? I am currently averaging ~18 and last week I averaged 22.

Awesome progress! As long as you keep practicing clock, you’ll be getting better. (In fact, practicing is pretty much the only way to get better at clock.) You’re definitely not at your limit yet. After I got my clock, I did a few hundred solves until I averaged sub-11. Since then, I’ve fallen out of practice, but if I had kept grinding, I could have for sure gotten sub-10 and beyond. @Humble Cuber shares some interesting tips in this video that I’ve never heard before, so you could check that out as well.

Thanks for the shoutout, if your improvement has slowed then like Ben said, I suggest the video. Also practice is key for the event, even if your progression has slowed down, doing a ton of solves will always be the #1 way to improve, just as a reference it took me 100+ solves a day for about 6 months to just get to sub 6. It might be hard to keep going if you don’t see any improvements, but just keep going and eventually you will see your times diminish just purely from solves alone. @Waffles

Thanks for the help and suggestions, I’ll definitely look into it and start doing more solves per day (currently do about 20). I won’t have a lot of time to cube this week because we have Chinese every day and by the time I get home I’m absolutely spent. In about 2 weeks I’m competing in clock, and top 75% moves into 2nd round. According to the psych sheet (which actually only has like 25 people who’ve competed in clock before) I’m hovering around 17-20th.

was done f2l by like 7 seconds, yellow cross. the stupid V perm ruined it. (locked up, dropped cube, missed an F move)

nice f2l into pll skip, wasted too much time pausing between 2nd and 3rd pair (2 free pairs)

Never mind I guess I lied when I said there was a comp coming up! Lockdown always comes at the worst time. At least I can learn algs and play minecraft more. But unlike some people I actually have social connections that I’ve developed recently so that isn’t gonna work out.

On a side note, at least it means I get more time to practise BLD. I was putting too much pressure on myself before and getting lots of DNF’s. At least I have some BLD solves in the weekly comp, I’m probably gonna practice BLD more.

I swear every comp this year has originally been planned for a date during a lockdown. Even Altona was originally postponed due to a lockdown lol. Oh well, guess it just means that I have more practice for when I get to go to another comp that doesn't get cancelled.

for the 2 people wondering, yes I still cube and I average maybe 14 seconds now but I used to use speedsolving on my phone while walking/driving and my phone kinda got destroyed and because of lockdown the only good repair shop around here is closed, so I can't get it fixed. yes, I could use my computer but I spend most of my time doing schoolwork and talking to friends and being active (and practicing cubing)

for my birthday i got a 6x6, an X-man tornado and a YJ MGC Squan 0_0

averages updated:
2x2: 3-4, haven't practiced this much
3x3: 14-15
4x4: 50-1m
5x5: 2m
6x6: 6m
Pyra: 6-8
Skewb: 6-10
Mega: 1:45-2m
BLD: haven't had the brainpower to do it recently
4BLD: gave up, because I didn't have the time
Clock: 8-15

tl;dr im not dead ty
