While I'm just randomly looking for the cubing related GWR that I guess I (maybe) can break in last month, I found a record that I think we can give it a try:

Most people solving Rubik's cubes simultaneously online.

Now the record is 558, from India in Oct.30, 2022.

Maybe it's just a crazy idea, and I know GWR is not that much value now because of the bunch of unnecessary records, but I still think it's cool to get a GWR.

Do anyone want to attempt this?
(I remember [maybe] they'll give everyone who is in the group attempt a certificate if they break the record.)

me
but will it be virtual or smthn?
The page doesn't say, I guess only the actual cube?

I also don't know what "Rubik's cube" means in the title, it's only 3×3 (because most of the time I see "Rubik's cube" or "rotating puzzle cube" on the title, it means 3×3) or including the other cubes (personally I prefer the second one, faster cuber can solve the other cubes), I guess the guideline would say or give a definition about that, or I'll ask them.

(After you apply a record, GWR will send you the guidelines which your attempts need to comply with it, but the problem is now you maybe need to wait for 12~16 weeks [according to their page, usually the 12 weeks is the limit, but it would be 16 weeks if there's too much applies, when I applied another record in Oct.6 ,the limit was 16 weeks, and now it's still "Pending"] just to get your guidelines if you want to attempt the record for free, and after you done your attempt and give them the evidences, you need to wait for ANOTHER 12 [maybe 16] weeks limit for the response, and you may fail to break the record because of some reason, like you accidentally break the guidelines or the evidences can't verify your record.

You can ask questions only after you get the guidelines, and the limit of the response period is two weeks.

There's a priority application which they'll respond you MUCH faster [5 working days], but it cost 800$US..., and the problem is I don't have that much money.

If someone really want to help us by paying that 800 dollars, I guess is much better to let that person to apply instead of transfer the money.)

1. Finding the enough people to apply.

2. Get the guidelines. (12~16 weeks, add 2 weeks if there's any question need to ask the GWR)

3. Choose a date to attempt (Discord/Google Meet/...),then collect and send all the evidences GWR want.

4. Get the response. (12~16 weeks)

Just want to say, it would take maybe half a year to do this, but I don't know if I have the time (though most of the time we're just waiting) because of the college courses.

I don't know if GWR would say we need to use which specific app/platform to online simultaneously or not, but I create a Discord server to manage the people who want to attempt more easily.

(Actually I don't know how to use Discord lol, for me it just like another Messenger I would use to check some messages once a month, and I also don't know how to take the video call in Discord [I only know how to use the Google Meet], maybe I'll google to learn it.)

Here's the link:

(Or I just apply this record in this week, then we invite enough people to come in the next couple of weeks, and I'll tag everyone in server after I get the guideline?)

Or can I split my computer screen, one side for the DC and the another side for the Google Meet?

Not sure if you know, but you can actually approach Guinness World Record, pay them, and request for a world record challenge, they will come out with a world record challenge for you to achieve and get a "World Record", that's their business model now btw, you pay, they serve.

I heard that before, but I personally just want a GWR title without paying the bill.

Sadly, I think I can't do this because I almost fail all of the subjects in my college now (applied mathematics, my highest and lowest score for the last 10 midterms is 41 and 6), and I definitely don't want to fail any courses in my first semester (ofc and the next four years), so maybe it's not a good time for me to do this.
(And I want to go to Australia for the master's degree, so I must keep a high enough GPA.)

I think @CoderGuru 's idea is great, it could be a nice YouTube video topic.

Nope, I dont think you can get a GWR title without paying, unless your record will bring in money for them.
