A few questions

I can answer the second one. I ordered mine on Wednesday night at about 10pm and I got the confirmation shipping EMail this morning. I'm shipping it via EMS.

Hello and welcome to the forum!
It generally helps if you give us a little bit of info on your cubing so we can better give you advice. Things like what method you use and how fast you are.
Generally to look ahead your hands have to know how to turn the step you are on very well so that your brain can look around at the other pieces to see what to tell your hands to turn next. So basically whenever you a solving one step you have to be able to look around for the pieces contained in the next step whether that be a block or a corner/edge pair or whatever. generally past the first two layers you don't look ahead.
And I think anywhere in the world the times it takes things from cube4you to arrive varies greatly. sometimes you get lucky and it will come in a week but other times it can take a month.

Hey guys.

How to people look ahead while solving?
and how long is the wait for the orders from cubes4you to Australia?

they ship to Australia via EMS. EMS is a great service in that you get a tracking
number and delivery to Australia is 3 business days. However it does cost more,
my shipping costs were $24.

if you are ordering directly from their website (rather than via eBay), be careful
and take screenshots of your order so that you don't run into problems and
endless arguments later, as I did.
the guy that runs the business is a skilled liar at best and calculated thief at worst.
countless text messages over skype and 17 emails later, I know he's the latter
(or rather both).
contrary to good business practice you'll not receive itemized email confirmation of
your order (even if you ask for it) so you'll be left only with
a copy of your order on his website which he can manipulate if he decides to.
he can then falsify the original order by deleting items you have purchased,
change price of the items you've purchased or change currency of your original order
and add 20% on top of the cost for the currency conversion even when
you don't ask for currency conversion since those are efficiently handled by
Paypal anyway (where you would pay fair bank rates).

if you wanted to see all 17 emails, incl. his responses, my original order and
then the falsified order, let me know, I'll email you all.

cheers

Wait, what?!? O_O

if you take screenshot of your order immediately after you selected
your items then you should be fine (or it would help you in an argument
if he later decides to falsify your original order by removing some of the
items you paid for).

if you are buying only 1 item (i.e. 1 DIY cube) then you'll be fine too
because he is unlikely to remove the only DIY kit and send you empty box.

I'm just saying be careful with him if you have a large order for many items.

when I received my package, 3 items were missing (worth +/- $20).
when I informed him, he sent me email (on March 14) advising me that
he forgot to put it in the box.
he then would not send me the missing items and refused to refund me
nor give me credit for my future purchases and over the course of one
week arguing he now changed the story telling me I've never ordered
those items. however he is unable to explain why then I paid for example
for 2 Transparent DIY kits worth US$ 22.78 if he's now saying I've ordered
only one ($ 11.39). so to make up for the difference in cost for items he did not
send me he actually went through the trouble of deleting items from my
order (on his website) and fixing price for the remaining items so that the
total I paid actually corresponds to his new falsified shipping order.
after I told him I took a copy of my original order he now changed his story
yet again and is blaming currency exchange rate, he's trying to tell me now
that US$100 = AU$130, whereas the correct exchange rate is around AU$110
(or in fact on the day of my order it was US$100 = AU$108)

his reply to that was something like : "but in my shop US$100 = AU$130"

the point is, he's making story as he goes, every day different story.
the fact is I did not even order in AU$, my original order was in US$ which
I was happy with because my Paypal account is in US$. he doesn't even
have an option on his website to select items in currency other than US$
and all his website prices are in US$ so why he is dragging currency exchange
rate argument into our conversation I don't understand.

i can't be bothered any more over stupid 20 bucks, i'm just not going to buy
from him again.

however he's being investigated by Paypal over this dubious transaction.

cheers

I've ordered a 3x3 DIY and 2x2 + 4x4 Eastsheens, how safe am I? =/

i didn't want to worry you.
i hope you'll be fine. i think after experience with me, he won't be trying
to take advantage of another australian.

keep on checking your order on his website, under "My Account" ==> "My Order"
select your current order and make sure it's still same and nothing is missing.
also, if he decided to change the currency for you (because his website operates
only in US$) then make sure he's not charging something stupid, like extra $20 for
conversion. your currency conversion (if any) should be handled
by Paypal (or your bank if you used credit card) so that you get charged
standard rates instead of being robbed blind.
