Finally sub-9 officially! I've failed 2 official sub-9 averages at competitions before this, so this was really exciting! Solves 1, 2, 3, and 5 were cross on top.

8.18, 8.37, (10.85), (8.05), 10.13 = 8.89 Average

Notes About Each of the Solves:
- Solve 1: Pretty bad F2L, saved by the PLL skip, poor reaction time to the skip
- Solve 2: Pretty good F2L, horrific execution of the U-perm
- Solve 3: Decent F2L, horrific recognition and execution of the J-perm
- Solve 4: Only cross on bottom solve, saw a pair in inspection and preserved it
- Solve 5: Super nervous, inserted the wrong edge with a corner during F2L and had to go back through and fix it, bad execution of A-perm because of nerves. I was trying to play it safe, rather than go as fast as possible and risk making a lot of mistakes.

Here are my comments on your comments:

I know you're like allergic to algs, but Sarah Strong has a video of ZBLLs with 2x2x1 blocks that might help with such cases
- Solve 4: Only cross on bottom solve, saw a pair in inspection and preserved it
Seeing first pair is fun *imagine a thumbs up here*
- Solve 5: Super nervous, inserted the wrong edge with a corner during F2L and had to go back through and fix it, bad execution of A-perm because of nerves. I was trying to play it safe, rather than go as fast as possible and risk making a lot of mistakes.
So instead going fast and making mistakes, you went slowly and still made mistakes???

Nah, just kidding, I know what it's like to have everything riding on the last solve. I'd say you held it together pretty well, if you ask me! Congratulations!

It was either go fast and mess up many times and get a 13 or go slowly and make only 1 mistake and get a 10 :p
Eww, people still do this? Sub-9 is nice though.
I don't think people actually do this anymore, I just am bad.

So sad. I've never seen anyone so against improving. Look at all those f2l pauses from doing cross on top. And notice that her fastest solve was cross on bottom, yet she stubbornly refuses to make this simple change to get faster.

Shes not against improving; if she was she wouldn't improve. Her lock-ups were mainly from nerves, as stated in the comments. Next time, actually give constructive critisism instead of thinking that you're above everyone and being rude.

1) I'm not against cross on bottom. In fact, I've been using it more than I used to, especially comparing that to where I was last year. On top of that, I'm not against improving... since I've been improving steadily since I started cubing.
2) My fastest solve really doesn't have much to do with cross on bottom. In fact, I have many more official singles with cross on top that are faster than that. And in comparison, I know people who's fastest single was with cross on top.
3) "This simple change" is actually a huge one. One that would take hours and hours of continual practice to master and improve upon. I'm competing every weekend for the next 2 months and will be competing many times per month for the rest of the year. I frankly don't want to potentially lose good averages, scrambles, podiums at upcoming comps while trying to switch crosses. On top of that, I don't have that amount of time to devote to just switching crosses. I do have a life.

I'm not trying to start a fight. I understand why people want me to switch. :p Just the way you said it came across as patronizing and antagonistic. I'm not trying to become world class here and I'm very happy with how I've been improving and where my times are right now.

Do you think this about everyone who doesn't attempt to be color neutral? Nice avg btw!

That's not an easy change, but for some motivation, someone I know who averages like 11 did the full switch in a few days. Also every weekend for the next 2 months wuttt?! I'm happy when I'm getting 2 comps in a month
