[Unofficial] 7x7x7 blindfolded: 19:49.41 (UWR)

Congrats Roman!

I don't think anyone else can touch this at the moment. I have had some fast DNF's but nothing sub25. Your execution is so fluid and fast that I think I'd take a memo time of 6-7 minutes for people to even compete with it!

It's also great to hear that you've reached your halfway mark for pi.

My goodness!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

.I dont think 7x7 can be memorised in 5 min.7x7 is about 9 cubes approx and maskow memos 9 cubes in about 5-6 min but they are 3x3s.7x7 is more stressful and stickers are small.also some small parities have to remembered so reviewing it consuming some time yo.....
All the best Roman on ur 10x10 BLD. May u get a success in it..

Very impressive, Roman.

Now might be a good time to recall this:

How low do you think 7BLD times can be pushed?
This is such an interesting question. Let's see. With Maskow's MBLD memory (40 sec per <room>) 7x7 can be memorized in ~7 minutes - considering the fact that bigBLD is a bit harder to memorize than a set of 3x3 cubes (because of centers tracking). I just rewatched my execution; it's "pretty fast", but can be way faster (pauses, low TPS etc); With complete execution rush it can be 1.3 - 1.5 times faster I believe. So we got 16 minutes so far.

Also, just remembered that:

Based on the fact that current UWR speeds on 5x5x5 are sub-5, and I'm the only person in the world who's ever really worked very hard on 7x7x7, and my ratio of best times, 7x7x7:5x5x5, is 37:11, I believe that an appropriate amount for UWR for someone good at 5x5x5 who works relatively as hard as I did at 7x7x7 vs. 5x5x5 would be sub-17. So yes, I agree with you - the 7x7x7 UWR should be quite easy to beat.

And I really do think sub-17 should be quite reasonable to achieve; 7x7x7 is a lot easier than many people think it is, especially after you've done several hundred attempts, like I have. I'm just slow because, well, I'm slow overall.
If there will ever be a human with Maskow's memory, Kevin's TPS on big cubes and Oliver's bigBLD skills, he will be sub-17 or even faster at it :)

So do you have Maskow's memory, Kevin's TPS on big cubes, and Oliver's bigBLD skills? :) If not, it certainly seems you're getting close! Note that if you had managed the 7 minutes memo you mentioned in the post above, you'd be in the 17's already.

Also, for evaluation, Ollie's estimate from almost exactly a year ago:
Sub-17 seems very ambitious (right now.) If there's anyone that can get close to sub-20 it's Roman as I still have a lot of trouble memorizing obliques quickly.

I think a more likely target for now is sub-22:

*7BLD can be done in stages - if I'm not a mistaken it can consist of a 5BLD stage, a 4BLD stage and a 'left-over centers' stage.
*Having done some practice with relays a 2345BLD relay can be memorized in 5-6 minutes with some practice.

I think the first sub-22 will have a ratio of around 11:00/11:00.
