7x7x7 blindfolded: 19:49.41[9:15.66] :tu

So after winter vacation I decided to take some cubes to perform BLD solves occasionally :p
You can say that 9 min memo is fast, but top memory athlets memorize equivalent amount of information in less than 5 minutes. Execution was safe (as well as memo, I guess), no rush at all.

Roman, did you continue doing other memory events even when you stopped cubing, or did you quit on all of it?

Practising memory events is what Ive been doing for the past half a year instead of cubing. Learned 1000-images system(for 000-999 numbers), memorized 8k digits of PI, played around with Anki and common mnemonic device etc.

How many 3x3s are equal for a 7bld?

Approximately ten. (and now it's time to remember this video)

First of all: You sir are totally amazing.

Secondly: I dont think comparing memo to top memory athletes is fair because it's much easier to "read" the information from lines of digits or binary than from scrambled cube so obviously they'll be faster. Also reviewing is a lot harder with cubes...

Incredible and it's nice to see you about again. Do you plan to cube for long or is it just a short term return?

I agree with tseitsei. You have to take into account the additional mental process in getting the letter correct of the piece you just memoed and also tracking what you've already memoed.

Thank you :)

This can a good justification, but still we spend most of the time for memorization itself, rather than encoding the information. As for me, going through lines of digits is comparable with going through the cube and holding my fingers on memorized centers, probably because I still have some trouble with converting 3-digital number into an image. What is for sure is memorizing 7BLD in 9 mionutes is not even close to the time that it can be memorized in.
