lol I just tried solving all centers, pairing the 4 cross edges, and placing them, and it also took 31.xx.

Starts the same all the way up to solving the last cross edge. Then the steps are

Freelice 4 edges at leat 2 of which are F2L edges.
Solve two F2L slots
Chain pair the last 4
333 stage

Back in 2010 whenever Feliks noticed me solving 4x4 with Yau he'd say "lolyau" and refuse to accept it's a good method. Even when judging. Since, he has beaten multiple world records with Yau, and recently stated the Redux isn't viable on CubeCast.

I've also been using Yau5 for a long time, similar response. Is this a sign that Yau5 is on the way too?

Maybe. The question is how much improvement can you see in the vid in terms of efficiency, and how much improvement can be made looking at the splits?

1st 2 centers: 9 (9)
1st 3 edges: 7 (16)
L4C + last cross edge: 14 (31)
1st 2 F2L pairs: 15 (46)
Last edges: 8 (54)
End 3x3: 8 (62)

I know one solve isn't exactly representative though.

I think my first two centers can be improved, maybe 7~8 sec
1st 3 edges, it's ok
L4C + last cross edge in 11~12 sec
the other parts I dont know how many I can improve using this method,I will think about a better way to do this(last 6 edges)
