3BLD race between bldcuber314, CubeLite and BVCuber13

DNF'ed out a PB mo3 of 1:50.57 minutes😞, so I still don't have a mean under 2 minutes

mean of 3: DNF

Time List:
1. 2:06.50 L2 D' F2 R2 D B2 F2 D R2 F2 R' D B F D L' U' F D' U' Fw Uw
2. 1:20.57 F' U R' D' B2 U2 L2 F2 D' B2 U B2 D' L' D' U2 R' F' R2 B2 Fw Uw2
3. DNF(2:04.64) R2 U' R2 U' R2 D B2 D' L2 D L2 B' U L F' L D2 B2 L2 U2 Rw Uw2

Tiredness I think. I was making the stupid mistake of being tired and DNFing, then wanting a success, trying again and getting even more tired. I normally can't do much 3BLD before I have to stop.
Yes it is hard to do long sessions of 3BLD.
Tommy, Charlie and Elliott are exceptions they can do ao1000 in one sitting yo.

Got PB2 single, PB mo3 (finally got it under 2 minutes) and ao5

Another sub 1 fail... 1:04 off by 3 corners.

So I memoed in 19 secs(one-pass) and executed edges very fast. But in the middle of corners, I had a HUGE pause. Then I executed the wrong pair(NoPe instead of FloP because in the context of the memo the meanings were very similar). If I had smoothly executed corners correctly it would have easily been sub 1. Hopefully next time though!

It’s alright, you got this! When did you start BLDing?

Thanks! I somehow got a success(14:48) first try in early October last year. It wasn't until my PB was 1:38 that I learnt M2 and started using letter pairs...
No way! We started around the same time. I was interested in doing it after seeing my friend (Jacob Schwartz) get a PR single of 2:12 at New England Championships last year, so I started in October of last year as well. I had a kind of progression thing leading up to an actual 3BLD solve. To prepare, I had a cube with letters on it for each of the pieces and a notebook and pencil to write my memo down. It was four parts:

1. lettered cube, written memo (7th attempt success)
2. regular cube, written memo (9th attempt success)
3. lettered cube, memo in my head (2nd attempt success)
4. actual 3BLD solve (1st try)

I think this really helps because you're pushing the level of difficulty up while still progressing your way to the actual solve.

Wow that's interesting. I did something similar. So I actually started with 2BLD, with no intention of learning 3BLD at all. This helped as Jperm's 2BLD tutorial is much easier to understand. Then I decided to try 3BLD. I never used a lettered cube(I was used to Speffz from 2BLD) but didn't do an attempt until I got a success with written memo(I think like 4th attempt).

So obviously we haven't really been doing this race anymore but I got 3 sub 1s 🤣(49.82, 59.24, 56.59). After getting fails constantly since late May(it felt like I was cursed), this feels really good! It was great to race you @CubeLite and @BVCuber13 !
Congrats! I am still yet to have a sub-45, but I have gotten another sub-1 with a 57 (actually in the airport going to NAC this year lol)

Now I that I have a comp with 3 BLD, I wanted to start to Race again, but You already won, so congrats
