Started cubing on 31st Jan 2008 using the beginner's method. ^^
Now I solve using intuitive f2l and 4-6 look LL depending if I recognize the case. Best time so far is 59 seconds but average's around 1min20sec.

Yesterday, I decided to give the Roux method a try partly because I lost a lot of motivation to learn all 4 look LL cases since I was able to solve the cube. (My purpose for cubing is to have fun solving too. Memorising and repeating algs again and again doesn't appeal to me.) Now I'm able to solve thr cube a few times using Roux thanks to Richard's tutorials on youtube. :) However I get stuck for a particular case at 4C which isn't explained on both the video tutorial and Roux's website.

So... I searched high and low for tutorials all over the net but Roux really seems like a method hardly anyone uses. Hopefully that there will be a couple of Roux users here who will be able to clarify and explain problems I have with that method. (Do I ask here or on the speedcubig board?)

Thanks for taking the time to read such a long introduction (lol), help will be greatly appreciated and have a great time cubing everyone. :D

Hey kudan,

Welcome to the forum. I'm certain all the cases for step 4c are described on both Richard's tutorial and on Roux's website (there are only really three). Perform some M moves once you reach step 4c if you do not recognize the case. You might notice the case then. Remember that after step 4b, you can perform any M move without messing up the orientation of the middle edges as long as you did step 4a correctly. Describe the case if you are still having trouble. Have fun!

Thanks for the warm welcome. ^^

A few times, after completing 4B, the centers can't be solved by a M2 move but a M move (blue/green center on the top instead of red/orange). If I were to do a M move, the edges won't be properly oriented and I have to revert to step 4A. It can't be solved using like the "dot case" too.

If I were to try solving the edges before solving the center, there's only 1 pair of edges that are wrongly placed (if I remember correctly)

Edit: DanCohen explained it to me in the chat room. I have to make the centers correctly positioned or a M2 away before I start 4A. Thanks for all the help. ^^
