A how to cube tutorial for beginners. Designed for those who have little to no experience and need somewhere to start.
The video is my attempt to add to the cubing community. Sometimes when searching for a way to start, some people get discouraged by how complicated some methods or tutorials...
Hardware I have down. I learned this solution years ago: link
Basically: White cross, 3 white corners, 2Lcorners under those corners, bottom cross and remaining edge, position corners, orient corners. I do everything intuitively and use a simple alg to position corners and another simple alg...
Note: This is not a tutorial, so I will not make any detailed description for each step. Just say the purpose of each step, some algorithms and a few comments. I'm not 100% sure this is the right place to post this, but I think it is.
There is something I have discovered while trying to teach...
I have had an idea for a beginner's cubing contest!
This is for cubers who can't solve below something like 30 seconds. I was thinking of asking if there are any such real contests, but instead I thought I should start one here! I'm thinking of those who don't want to be left out.
When I was learning full PLL I started to mix up H and Z execution. Here is how I solved that:
Please don't mind the slow turning ;)
H:M2' U M2' U2 M2' U M2'
Z: M'2 u M2' D' M S2 M'
I have looked up threads like this, all talking about Keyhole and Sexy method for beginners.
But I haven't seen anyone teach Roux to someone that doesn't know how to solve the rubik cube.
My question is, Should I teach them Roux? Yes or No.
My reasons for this:
I don't like how LBL...

I make this into a new thread, because I would like multiple responses or even some advice would be lovely. And idk who to talk to about this.

I would like to find out what would be the fastest beginner method, to use .
by this i mean that i would like to find out the fastest layer by layer (LBL) algorithms that there are. i do not require specific whole methods but the fastest algorithms in order to do each layer. every beginner...
So I'm interested in 4x4. I have very little knoledge of it, but I think i get the jist of the solving methodolgy, or at least the idea of how to do it. Basically I would like to know what methods are beginner helpful ( im pretty noobish with a 3x3, but i understand alot of the maths behind it)...
I recently changed from school, and when I brought a cube a lot of people knew how to solve it, an even more had some basics and solved the F2L. There are also several elective(Idk the correct term for this) hours per week, with an hour and a half block for ludic and entertainment activities...

I'm sort of the leader of a cube club at my school, and there are plenty of members who use fridrich f2l and 2l oll and pll.
My question is : How do they seem to be turning faster than me if they are 20+ seconds slower than me (I avg about 15)? I thought they just aren't efficient...
Edit: Please find the latest suggestions in this thread here.
Ok, so I am really sick of people asking what kind of cubes should they get.
It seems that I have started the "The XXX Thread" wave at this forum, although some of the threads are pretty useful, the invarible title really annoys me...
there have been a lot of threads for identifying cubes, so i thought why not put them all into one thread?
1. resize your picture (if any)
2. no spam. THIS IS NOT SANDBOX
3. Give as much description as possible or pictures of the mechanism. nobody could identify
your cube if you...
