I finally have the 4x4- 7x7 YJ MGCs. As I heard the was a really solid line up. Is there a 2x2 or 3x3 MGC that is as good as the bigger cubes? Or should I just stick with the already known good 2x2s and 3x3s?

I just got a Square 1 XMan Volt 2 fully magnetic. The slice layers are very smooth and easy to turn, but the up and down face are very tight and hard to turn. I know nothing of how the internals work, so is there a way to loosen the U/D without messing with the slice?
