[Help Thread] Skewb Discussion

H perm avoidance is easy. I assume you know what the case looks like (centers on R and L solved).

When you get it, instead of doing whichever trigger, do a y2 and do the trigger. Then y2 and the inverse of that trigger.

For nasty Pi cases, all I can say is just turn fast. I don't know the advanced cases for them yet.

Thanks! :)

Can someone put here the complete 27 algorithms method but with the official notation? I would like to learn that method.
Well, or can someone explain the notation that is written in the website of the method?
Oh and I have heard that some people try to reduce the H-perm to a simple 4-move case if you recognise it before. Can someone explain me that?
And finally is there any site that you can generate algs for the skewb that solves the case that you put?
Thanks :D

When you recognize you're going to get an H perm (sledge or hedge left, both R and L have a solid block color)
Do a y2, whatever trigger you were going to do, y2 opposite of whatever trigger you were going to do.

Oh ok I have understood it. Thanks :D.

And how does the notation of the 27 algorithms method work?

I'm not sure which 27 you're talking about, but they're probably in rubikskewb notation.

Top layer corners are written as R, L, F, B
The bottom layer corners are written as r, l, f, b.

Yes, I think that it is that notation. So for example a R would be a clockwise turn of the R corner, and a f' would be a rotation counterclockwise of the f corner. Is it ok? Thanks for explaining this to me:D

Popped thrice in 5 solves and messed up my official average. Any good torpedo to fit in my skewb please? I've seen Drew's but I don't think I can get Legos like those here in India. Any help would be great regarding the idea of a torpedo.

A friend of mine uses chopsticks. Apparently what he did is: Cut ~3cm long piece out and round it off from one side, such that it fits into the rounding of the center. Glue it in... Done!

I tried this but the sanding was too much work for me haha. I would try to order some Legos, they're really the easiest way.
