When I learned M2 from Pochmann's page, I noticed that the commutators to shoot to the edges DB and BD, UF and FU, and UB and BU, were the same, then I realized that is because we have to orient them them shoot. Recently though, I heard that there were some commutators made to shoot to BD, FU, and BU, without the need to orient. So I searched and have no luck so far. Does anyone know these commutator.s

Hey Shafiq, I think I still don't quite understand how to shoot to pieces on the M slice for M2. But if you give me the cycle (DF->BD->UB) for example I can give you the BH commutator for it at the very least.

If you need algs like DF->BD->UB but with the M2 slice also being toggled I would do something like: B' E' B' D2 B E B' D2 B2 M2

I don't know if that is exactly what you mean, but if it is then I'll do the other cycles too.

Chris

Hey Chris, No this isn't exactly what I am looking for. What I meant is like what the commutator for the specific sticker is, not when they are together in a cycle.

Also, another question, have you published your BH method yet? Just wondering.

You probably didn't search hard enough (and what's wrong with Fanwuq's algs?), but: http://cube.garron.us/BLD/r2/M2_algs.txt

FU: D [M', UR2U'] D M2'
BD: M2' D [UR2U', M'] D'
BU: M'UM'U'M2'U'M'U'M'U'M'U2'M'U'M'U2'M'

You could probably figure out something similarly useful if you learned commutators and really understood M2, though.

Thanks a lot Lucas. There wasn't anything wrong with Fanwuq's alg I was just telling chris that the information he provided me wasn't what I was looking for.

Are you sure Chris isn't giving you what you want? By doing the cycle Chris gave you, he's giving you the commutator to "solve" the single sticker BD (in the specific case he gave). M2 solves each individual piece with a 3-cycle. I'm pretty sure he's giving you exactly what you want.

oh crap, I just realized that you are right! oops..my error

Here is a easy to remember alg:

F U' R F' U M2 U' F R' U F'

Or as this:

X = F U' R F' U
Y = M2

Do: X Y -X = 5 setup turns + M2 and then restore the setup turns.

I tried that commutator on a cube and noticed it flips 2 edges on the M slice and has the 2 centers on the M slice swapped. Is there more to this alg the I am seeing?
