Which is better for 2x2x2? CLL or Ortega?

Corners of the Last Layer. It's like LBL but you do OLL and PLL at the same time.
CLL is better than Ortega. Less moves, fewer looks.

LBL is a simplified version of CLL.
It works like this: build layer>solve OLL> solve PLL
CLL is where you build layer> solve OLL and PLL in one alg.
Oh, LBL meaning layer by layer. Ok I get you.

LBL: Slowest, and easiest to learn
Ortega: Less slow, and a bit harder to learn
CLL: Faster, and even harder to learn
EG: Fastest, and hardest to learn
Method steps:
LBL: First Layer, then OLL, then PLL (9 algs: 7 OLLs, 2 PLLs)
Ortega: First Face, then OLL, then PBL (13 algs: 7 OLLs, 6 PBLs)
CLL: First Layer, then OLL + PLL both in 1 alg (42 algs. 7 of those algs are the OLLs; 2 of them are the PLLs. 35 other CLL algs.)
EG: First Face, then OLL + PBL both in 1 alg (128 algs. The 42 algs already used in CLL plus 86 more.)
PBL = Permute Both Layers. It's PLL for the bottom AND the top layer in 1 alg.

Well, EG is 126 but yeah, that pretty much sums up 2x2 methods right there

Well, this thread was started by someone asking if Ortega or CLL was better, and if you're there you have other things to worry about than TCLL. But as an advanced method, definitely.

IMO, if you start out with CLL, you will be just as slow, if not slower from all the algorithms.

I do anti CLL when I build an eg1 face so that I can go straight into PBL without auf.

Nope. When I don't know an eg1 and it's pointless to make a layer, I force a onelook Ortega solve.
Although I do it with eg2 faces also lol

So you force Y on top? That sounds horribly inefficient. I would only ever do that if OLL alg I want to use is also CLL for that case. I like to force J on top so I get double bar PBL, but that's just me.

It's actually really good for me. I could force J on top but that requires having to AUF before the alg. Forcing Y lets me go immediately into the alg without AUFing a bar. Plus I love my alg for it.

I like the alg I use for that too but double j is still faster I think. Though no auf make sense I suppose.

I like my alg for double J's but it's just too slow to AUF both before and after.
