[Help Thread] Skewb Discussion

So the question is what is the average move count for the cases where we need to twist 2 corners on LL and we need to permute the four centres on the sides (L,F,R,B)?

brb...

EDIT: 10, 8, 9, 9, 9, 9, 8, 8, 9, 8, 9, 10 => 8.833...

If anyone is curious, the worse cases are pure peanut (i.e. a pure 2 corner twist) and 2 corner twist + one of the z perms.

(special thanks to Ranzha for his Hideki Niina notation ksolve .def file)

I decided to do the same request except with pi corners:

8,8,8,10,8,8,8,8,8,8,8,10 => 8.33...

The worst cases are pi corners+Zperm.

It seems that Z perm is generally a bad thing to have. In fact it's also the worst centres first case I think? (3 moves).

Hey guys, im not sure, but i think you could apply ortega to the skewb. I tried and got one similar cases to ortega. The only problem i have is changing the algorithms. Can anyone help??

KirMeep you solve a face like in ortega then the U corners. Then the L5C.

Also most methods seem to be LBL methods( at least the ones people use). Where you solve a layer and maybe a centre then the rest in whatever order the method requires. Are there any methods people are sub 10 with that the first step isn't solve a layer or a face.

Thanks, I'm not sure about sub 10, but i've tried shara's method and got sub 20 solves within an hour of learning her beginners method
