Title. Even with the beginners method that badmephisto outlined, my major problem at the moment is overshooting. It feels like every turn I overshoot, drastically hurting my times. I don't really know how to train myself to stop overshooting, whether there's a tension I should use, take my torpedos out and whatnot. No idea, that's why this thread was created. I'd gladly appreciate some help :p

This might be the problem. The cube might be too fast for you

I understand the idea behind that, and it makes a lot of sense given my lackluster experience. The problem is that I've never been too keen on buying multiple cubes and working my way up to the top: it's too expensive and seems counter-intuitive. I figured that if I was going to end up using a cube similar to a zhanchi, I might as well get one. If I end up in a situation where it's hopeless, I may try investing into another cube, but for the time being I'm going to stick with a zhanchi.

With a PB at 50 your average might still be sup60, you'll gain this with time. When I was at more or less 60sec my turning style was also rather rough and approximate. It comes with time, alg after alg, F2L after F2L, keep practicing and it'll get better. Also you can try to run triggers in loop such as the sexy move or the sledgehammer to practice your turning style. And don't forget to practice with the left hand as well !

no cube "overshoots" its just the cube that is too fast for you. either get a slower cube or just get used to the fastness easy as that. when i got my zhanchi it was so fast i couldnt do algs cause i kept doing e.g. R2 instead of R lol. but then i got used to it and it was normal.

I, personally, would tighten it to a comfortable level, but do whatever works best for you.

Thanks, three turns tighter seems to be doing wonders, I'll work my way down from there :p

Hey! Speedcubing drills. That seriously hadn't clicked in my head yet, but I'll start trying some. I've been meaning to become ambidextrous for some time, so this should kill a real life bird and a cubing one with a single stone. That idiom was dragged out, but thanks anyway :p

Turn slowly?
Like, there's no point rushing through your moves if you're having problems turning the next

My Main is Weilong and I tend to overshoot but biggest problem is that the corner twists, any help ??
