What did you average when you no longer got sup 20 times?

At what personal average did you no longer have times >= 20 seconds?

In other words, even with an average below 20 seconds, some people still get times in the 20's every now and then.

For example, 16.22, 17.89, 21.20, 18.34, 17.39 is an average of 18.20, but the person still gets times >=20 seconds occasionally.

So what average were you when you no longer got any times in the 20's and ONLY started getting times below 20 seconds?

thanks

You never NEVER get any times of a certain speed. For instance, with pyraminx, I average high4/low5, but I still get times over 7 and 8 consistently, and usually get a couple solves over 10 or even 15 seconds. With 3x3, I average like 18, but sometimes still get times ~30-40.

I'm sub 13 and I still have an occasional sup 20 solve. It's rare but they definitely happen.

Interesting. I would have thought it'd be almost impossible for a sub 13 solver to still get solves in the 20's. Most of the videos I see, the experts rarely make mistakes. And if they do, they recover quickly and still bust out a crazy fast time.

What about sup 30? Do you remember what average you were when you stopped seeing sup 30 times?

Yeah, it's not often. I've done 500 or so solves since my last sup 20. I was averaging like 21 when sup 30s got rare.

Take it from the pro 2x2 student of Mr. Olson: Just count on good Ortega scrambles and take advantage of it.

:p you killed my finals average and the scrambles were so good.. Grrrrr
Very few people are capable of making me nervous, but you managed to do it :(

Knowing that I'll smash someone if Mr. Olson gives the green light is probably good enough reason to be nervous :) Not to mention, I didn't want you taking away my legit 2x2 podium (last year I also podiumed...with a 5.xy average).

Haha I was hoping just to podium, not take away yours. Then the scrambles were evil. But yeah you won't smash me, I went to get you pop ;)

Uh, clearly the scrambles were amazing! Forget CLL, it's for nubz. Learn Ortega. Look at Dwyer, he does Ortega and had he not done AUF wrong he'd have had a stupid average, too.

I know they were! Just amazing enough that they were too easy to screw up after I realized that I could possibly beat your average. Again, I didn't WANT to take your average, I just realized it was possible. Then I got nervous and boom.

Well, you guys just crushed my dreams. I average 26.xx and every time I get a sup 30 time, I get pissed. But it looks like I'll be seeing 30's for a very long time. I may have to get sub 15 in order to never see a sup 30 solve.
