And if you have to regrip because of it?

! Yeah I think that's probably the main reason I do some U U moves, to avoid small regrips. I'd like to think that all my fingertricks are optimised for speed, and I think in certain cases, doing a U U is faster than U2, depending on my hand position. Or maybe it's just a habit I've developed.

I agree. I don't usually do it unless it's either an alg that can be done without regrips or an f2l case that I know it won't slow down.

Thanks, Faz! Ever thought about giving some 'Fingertrick' pointers? Just things that work and don't in solving.

I don't have to regrip when I do index-middle. When I try to do U U, I seem not to be not able to move my finger back fast enough.

I don't know why this is a big deal but Feliks does, as well as most of the best cubers in the world, implement U2' and U2 double flick using index-middle.

Should have answered this sooner but, I take jazz piano and most of my teacher's time is correcting wrong fingering that might have made a scale easier for me but as he said 'the right fingering might be harder at first but when you start improvising you'll be able to do a lot more with it'. In jazz you study the greats so even though cubing is not as old as jazz you get better by looking at those who are better. I'm a noob using double flicks but I noticed that getting from one alg to the next is sometimes awkward. Only with reconstructions did I notice that most of the fast guys us U U rather than U2. U U or U2 I will never be as fast as these guys but there is something to getting a better grip on the cube(3 fingers rather than 2) and more importantly getting from one alg to another at any angle. If you look on the 'Request an Alg' section you see me all over it with people correcting my ideas on fingering. Sooner or later one of these fast guys will make use U2's(Or maybe me!) but for now I'm experimenting with both, plus it's fun to learn new stuff:)
