Start and stop the timer with the cube in the air while not letting it touch the floor/table. A few of us were doing this the monday after Worlds.

How high do you throw it in the air? I have 8 foot (2.5m) ceilings and almost hit it on one, but still can't manage to start the timer

High enough to not be in your hands for .55 seconds.. Maybe sit on the floor?

.55 seconds? I thought it was 1 (or is it .55 for pro and 1 for gen2). I was sitting on the floor, but still couldn't manage to start it even once. My way to do this was to hold the cube in thumbs, with fingers on the timer, then flick the cube up and release. It seems a lot easier
