I found a new alg for the arrow perm!!

and is optimal J-perm 10 moves? i just checked and yes it is. i am assuming that you are using the standard 11-move LUR Niklas-antisune combo plus mirror for FMC right now?

Actually, I use LRU2R'U'RU2L'UR'U' (11 moves). I like LR and L'R' algorithms, like Kenneth. (One reason why I like H perm so much.) Kenneth is not very fast either - maybe this is bad of me, but they work well for me at my current level. I've often wondered if this attachment I have might have to go if I want to get faster.

okay thanks guys can someone delete this thread i cant seem to do so

Why would you do that?, we have all found algs like you did and got exited about it. There is not a big chance you will find an alg for PLL that is not knowned already, but hey, how did you know, you are a newbie

And you started a discussion, be pleased :D

No one except me and Mike use:

R' U' R F2 R' U R (U y') R2 U' R2' U' R2

:(

This one looks interesting. Do you start with your right thumb on the front or up face? I assume there is a regrip during the y'?

After messing around with it for a few minutes:
R' U' R F'2 R' U R Dw R2 U' R'2 U' R2

Start with right thumb on UP face... The F'2 is a trigger with the ring then middle fingers of the right hand. There is no regrip on this.

Maybe you were already doing this?

I do right wrist down, left index flick, right wrist up, move right index to URF and flick twice, move right index to DRB and pull down right wrist, right pointer flick, right wrist up, left ring push on BL for Dw, right wrist up twice and stay, left index flick, pull back right face, left index flick, right wrist twice.

I already use it for a long time... I got that algorithm from Bob Burton's page if i'm not mistaken...

Bob uses (F R U') (R' U' R U) (R' F') (R U R' U') (R' F R F')

I have found this a long time ago but decided not to share it because I thought it was slow, but anyway here it is:
Instead of using U R U' R' U' F' U F, U R U' R' U' y L' U L or U R U' R' U' y' R' U R (F2L Algorithm), why not use U R U' M' U R' U' M? It doesn't have any rotations or F moves so it should be faster for someone who's familiar with M slice turns, or has this algorithm been found also? (This is a 3 edge cycle by the way)

Mine is weird, but optimal and still pretty fast (but NOT for one-handed)
(L' U' L) (F2 R' D) (R U R2 D' R2 U') (y' R2)

I just realized that I could avoid the weird (F2 R' D) part by transforming it to:
(F' U' F) R2 B' u (R U R2 D' R2 U') (y' R2)

And just for fun (not speed), just shift those last 3 moves to the end so it becomes
R2 B' u (R U R2 D' R2 U') (y' R2) (F' U' F)
I hope that shows how much PLL's are related

That's the one that almost everyone uses for the Y perm. It'd be best for you and everyone else if you learned the permutations by their letter names.

I learned all of my Perms from cubestation.co.uk, are the letters he has on there correct? I couldn't tell if he made them up or not because he calls the v perm ice cream.....

Oh, and is that guy Dan Cohen? Nope, nvm, Dan harris
