Where should I put my cubes when I'm flying?

I'm going to fly to Spain tomorrow for the Euro 2008. So where should I put my cubes? In my hand luggage or could they survive in the luggage that goes through check in? And am I allowed to take silicone spray to the airplane (i'm not talking in my hand luggage)?

Just take them with you. I wouldn't put them in a luggage.

I would advise against taking silicone spray. Even if it's not in your hand luggage, they may still confiscate it from your checked luggage because it's a pressurized can. Besides, you're going to a big cubing convention. Do you really think you won't be able to find silicone spray there?

What if all the competitors were flying in and all of their silicone was taken away?

Bring the cubes with you on the plane. It would be some nice practice time on the plane, and it could provide some entertainment. But I don't know about the silicone. I don't think that they would let you bring it, but it is worth a try.

But I hate if my cube is stiff when I'm competing.

If your cube will be stiff a week after you have lubed it, then either your lube is bad, or your cube is bad. I go for months with the same lube in my cubes.

When I flew to Massachusetts from California I put my cubes in a backpack, works pretty well I could fit my timer and everything.

you can bring deodorant in your luggage, i don't see whats different

They wont let you take it if it's in a pressurized can like Axe or something, my borther did this once and got it taken away. And wouldnt practicing on the airplane annoy the people around you? My parents hate it when Im cubing around them, because of the click-clack of my cube turning.
Edit: maybe you could check online at your flight company's website on what's allowed?
