I have a fun challenge for the cubing brainiacs out there. I received a novelty cube as a gift recently. I'm able to solve it all except for one re-occurring case that I am unable to find a solution to, except for when I simply get lucky.

Instead of the normal colour scheme, each side of this 3x3 has the emblem of one NHL team on it. Once I've solved it, the centers are always off because on a solid coloured cube it doesn't matter what position the centers are in relative to all the other pieces of the same face. I've managed to get 5 of the six centers to match it's respective sides but when i'm solving the last step of CFOP I am unable to influence the last center of the top face to complete the entire cube!

How could I rotate one center by 90 degrees without affecting the rest of the cube??

(Only) one center rotated 90 degrees is impossible. One center rotated 180 degrees can be solved by placing it on U and doing (R U R' U)5 or T perm *2

[Sune U2]x3 U center turns 180. figured that out just now. Also 3 Uperms is 180 turn of U center? What Uperm do you use? I use R U R' U' L' U' L U2 R U' R' U' L' U L, quite fast, found it myself, but the U center turn 360 degrees.

I use R2 U R U R' U' R' U' R' U R' or R U' R U R U R U' R' U' R2

3 U-perms turn U and R 90 degrees.
This is the one I needed! I thought i was only off by one center at 90 degrees but after looking again one adjacent side was also off!

A little off topic.. how do you post with multiple quotes from more then one reply?? I've seen replies with quotes from 2 or 3 different ppl?

I do it this way by using center comms the anothers one would be [M'U2M,E] and [M'U'M,E]. You could also use [ERE',M]. It is pretty straightforward and easy. And please don't use 33 moves when there is an obvious 8 mover for the job.

You can use the Multi-Quote tool - it's to the right of "Reply With Quote". Just click it on all the posts you want to reply to at once, then click "Reply With Quote" on one of them. You could also just manually copy and paste each of quotes.

No, that's where the quoted text goes.
