I'm pretty sure this is the first time that this has been done. Unfortunately, the cube isn't quite visible when I'm actually doing moves here, but I'm happy enough that I got it at all. Time is about 5:37.

Brest, you're welcome to have a go if you feel up to it.

lol random place to do this?

This was at Stanford's juggling club's weekly meeting--the other jugglers were just standing behind me. So not so random. (And it happens that there's a weekly a cappella mini-concert right in front of the bookstore at the same time, so that explains the group of people who are singing on the left side of your screen at the beginning.)

Ravi, did you do move every time the cube was in your hand or you had to wait until it falls with the right face?

I've practiced this enough that I do have some (very slight) control over how the cube rotates, but I am mostly just waiting until it lands right. As an extreme example, you can see that between 4:18 and 4:39 I catch the cube 21 times in a row without managing a move--that time was spent figuring out which G-perm I had and what the first move was (green face CCW), and also making lots of throws that just didn't quite land at the right angle. On the other hand, I have occasionally managed to do two or even three moves on consecutive catches.

This is simply amazing. Have you tried doing multiple cubes?

Not in a four-ball pattern lol. (Although I think I will try that eventually--four cubes is my long-term goal.) I've done three cubes while just juggling those three, but I generally feel that it's more interesting to solve one cube in a harder juggling pattern than three in a relatively easier one.

Do you think you can have the time to do moves in a five ball pattern ?

No. :P

EDIT: Okay, *maybe*, with extremely large amounts of practice, I could imagine doing something like cube + ball in one hand and three balls in the other hand (siteswap 64, for jugglers). But even that would be ridiculously hard, especially because the three-in-one-hand throws have to be so much higher than the cube that you can't even really see both at the same time, and also because the two-in-one-hand has to be sped up to make time for the other hand. The biggest problem with doing a standard 5-ball cascade would be the difficulty of controlling the cube's rotation. (see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wRcLp6JG4zM)

The most amazing cubing video I've seen so far. Just awesome!
It looks like you're about to drop a ball every 10 seconds or so. But you manage to recover from it every single time. That's the most amazing thing for me in this video. (It makes the pattern look pretty sloppy, though :P)
