I have been stuck at around 20-22 seconds for a heck of a long time(1 and 1/2 months) and I was just wondering If anybody had any tips on how to get sub-20

My cross is 2.5-3 seconds
My F2L (excluding cross) is around 11 seconds
My 1 and 1/2 look OLL is around 3.5-4.5 seconds
My 1-look PLL is around 3-4 seconds
As you can see this averages out to 22.5 being the worst and 20 being the best
Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

I hope this is supposed to be here and not in beginner's central

PRACTICE!

Try and get sub-3 on all PLL's/Recognition

Try and get sub-2 on cross

Try and get sub-12 F2L + Cross

Or just learn all your PLL's and improve your F2L. I only know 28 OLL's and I average sub-20. Oh, and practice. It pisses me off with each thread that demands the answer to "How do I get sub-20?" Stop making those stupid threads and keep practicing.

I'm not claiming to be an expert, but I will give my advice.

Try getting each pair of F2L at or under 2 seconds with good look-ahead. That should let you get an 11-sec Cross+F2L. With that, only the worst LL (by your, 4.5+4 = 9.5) will get you sup-20. I'd try to get all your PLL sub-3, and finish learning your OLL. I typically do (in a decent solve) 11-sec Cross+F2L, 3-sec OLL, 3-sec PLL.

Overall, 'tho, get good at F2L. All of my good solves had sub-9 Cross+F2L.

Try and get sub-12 F2L + Cross

I hope you know I can see that :p

I would have to say that the best way to get sub 20 is to see things faster and turn the cube faster... That may just be me, though

I put it on silver because you need good eyes to get sub-20 too.

What's wrong with you today, dude?

You were harsh on that n00b about his DIY and now you're harsh here too.

I think you need to have a nap or a drink or something.

We all know that practice is key, but SOMETIMES people can give pointers (like everyone else in this thread except you).

Practice goes without saying. Someone averaging 22 will know that practice is key.

Sorry, I'm just saddened/disappointed/annoyed/angered by the fact that the search function isn't used. Well, not used enough to keep these repetitive threads from popping up. Plus, you don't even have to use the search bar to find the answer. Just go to one of two forums that contain threads on how to get faster and look for one that looks promising.

From what I've seen, he's normally like that.
I can give you at least 5 other examples of that.

Still, you really have been going a bit overboard today. Just take it easy dude, this is only the internet ;)

This is why i stopped posting here and on Speedcubing related Forums in general, there's only so many topics and polls to be discussed and voted on before the forum starts repeating itself.

The answers to these types questions are always the same: Practice.
While a valid answer, it's an equally annoying and unhelpful response.

A better analogy of this might be as follows.
A person lost in bad weather in a helicopter messages an air traffic control tower where people on these forums work. The person asks: "Where am I?" The air traffic control takes some time to respond, but their answer, as always to those who are lost, is: "You are in a helicopter."

That about sums it up. When i got relativly sub-20 it was because a slowed down and looked ahead a lot. Try that.

Try to see 90-100% of the cross within inspection, then while doing the cross in the actual solve, you don't have to look at it, you can just look ahead for your first pair. Also, learn all OLL.

I am at this barrieer as well and I have only gotten like 3 or 4 sub 20 avgs. My advice would be to just relax and focus on looking ahead during f2l. Also, keep practicing and eventually sub 20 will come.

How about a revised catch-all response to the noob threads-
PRACTICE
Improve look ahead
Speed up LL
PRACTICE

we could make it into one of those cool anagrams?(is it called:confused:)
we just need to change it up a little....

Practice
Improve look ahead
Memorize OLLs/PLLs
Practice
Speed up LL

:D:DLOL, i make myself laugh.... ok sorry for that....:p
