I was wondering if a solve I did was lucky...
The cross was 3/4 formed and needed just an F to finish it. Is this considered lucky (I didn't completely skip a step) or just very improbable?
I'm wondering because it resulted in a new PB of 23.95...
Thanks in advance

A 1 move cross is very, very lucky (although not by these rules)

I don't know where MistArts got his 1/4 lucky definition, but that is not how others define lucky

I heard it somewhere in the forum...

2) The chance to skip the step is 20 percent or more.

It 20% anyway.
You should read that section more carefully. It says that if you skip a step that gets skipped in 20% or more of the cases it isn't considered lucky

That's what I meant. -.-

Really, I don't buy into the concept of "lucky". Someone pointed out on this forum that an OLL skip + F perm is "lucky", but Sune + U-perm is not, even though for many cubers the second is faster. I know it is for me. This is even more true for F2L; if I have easy 3-move insertions that are right in front of my face every time I can blow through the F2l and easily save 5 seconds off my solve. It's not "lucky" by any definition I've read, but it's certainly much easier than a standard solve.

What I use at this point is that if a solve had steps that were obviously way easier than normal I count it as lucky, if it didn't, I don't. I also don't really keep track of single solves except for fun; I honestly couldn't tell you anything about my best solve other than that it was around 16 seconds.

If you want to submit something as a UWR or some such the rules are generally well-defined, and then you just follow those rules.
